Sunrise

I liked the way the light flattens out and simplifies the
shapes in this portrait. It almost looks like stained
glass. In the early morning, there is a
quality to the light that doesn't exist at any
other time of the day. It is strong, and golden,
and slants in to light just the edges of the
trees. As it creeps up over the eaves of the
house, it touches the row
of sunflowers, setting them on fire!
