| Artists are special people~we don't think like the rest of the world. We see things a little differently. We like to have our dessert before we have dinner. Alizarin crimson runs in our veins. We need to be judged for our originality, our integrity, not by our beauty. I like to think that all artists share a common bond~a passion to create! I was born and raised in the shadow of Mount Diablo, in an area known for it's wonderful fresh fruit and rich farmlands. I learned to love the land, to respect the hard work and determination of the small farmers, and I craved a piece of land to plant, and nurture. I studied Fine Arts and Horticulture in college, with a large serving of horse on the side. I wanted to paint. Instead, I married and had two beautiful daughters. As I raised my family through the 80's and 90's I always yearned for more time to paint, it wasn't until years later that I was able to devote time and effort to my love of painting. Now, I am married to a wonderful man who encourages me to spend my time painting. We have a beautiful property with a cedar cabin in 4 acres of woods in Fiddletown. My two daughters are grown and we have three beautiful granddaughters and a grandson to spoil. My painting has blossomed. It has become richer and more expressive~I like to think it is my happiness showing through! |
